*UPDATE* 3-6-2026

This campaign now serves as a #SaveStargate mini funder. If we can raise upwards of £1000 then a new short can be made ASAP to try and give fans a viral sharable video to show Amazon that Stargate has a lot of fan interest. Our last Stargate fan video has received 88,000 views in 6 months and is our 5th highest viewed video. There is interest, there is love and were the only people on the planet that can make this sort of piece in this short amount of time.

We have been trying to launch the full Indiegogo...and now Kickstarter since October last year but various things keep forcing us to pause.

With more projects to create and constant outgoings...this GoFundMe was designed to fund us if a January campaign took us until April funding.

Now it looks like Kickstarter needs us to make rather large changes to the otherwise finished campaign...and that will take more full time work to do. As such...were the middle of February and still no launch in sight.

Lets assume time can be moved to work on this and get it approved by the start of March...that's a March-May campaign...and funds by June.

We have so many plans for the summer and now we will have no way to fund them except through this go-fund me!

Who are we and what is Trek Shorts?

We’re a team who’ve been producing Star Trek–inspired short films since 2021. We’re incredibly lucky to have a talented cast and crew who are genuinely passionate about the stories we get to tell across all Star Trek eras.

Things did not go according to plan!

We had aimed to launch our BIG Indiegogo in early October 2025. It took about five weeks of work to build the campaign page, organise the perks, and — most time-consuming of all — craft a polished, ambitious, and epic pitch video. We wanted a high-quality, thoughtfully constructed pitch that really represented Trek Shorts at its best… and that level of care takes time.

This Indiegogo was meant to fund the films currently in production and secure the budget for our 2026 projects.

But then Indiegogo changed hands in early 2025 — and just as we were about to hit the launch button, they updated the entire website. A lot changed, both big and small. We had to go through several brand-new approval processes (great for donor safety for sure!) but these added another two weeks of delay.

By the time everything was finally approved, the earliest slot we could launch on was the last weekend of November.

And at that point… it’s basically Christmas. People have holiday expenses, travel costs, gift buying — funds are naturally tighter. We didn’t want to compete with that, especially when this Indiegogo is hugely important and needs to perform well to keep Trek Shorts secure for another full year. (We have so many things planned!

So the decision was made to push the main campaign into January 2026, create a new December release to bridge the gap, and then roll the three planned releases throughout the 60 day campaign as originally planned!

But because of this shift, a 60-day January–March campaign means the earliest we’d actually receive the funds is April 2026 — instead of January, which had been the plan.

That would leave us October to April completely unfunded, and Trek Shorts production would have to slow radically and that would have ripple effects to everything were trying to create.

Why this mini-funder exists

We want to keep going full steam ahead — not grind to a halt for a chunk of the year — and that means launching this mini-campaign to keep us funded through the gap and able to keep creating without interruption.

We make the content you want to see, and we are always pushing the quality higher. That’s incredibly important to us, and it’s only possible because of the fan funding we receive.

We do a lot with very little… and believe me when I say you have not seen the amazing projects currently filming. There is some truly incredible stuff coming.
