Hi I'm Lisa aged 36. Wife to Rob and mum to 3 gorgeous girls.

After I had my 3rd baby I was sadly diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2017. After a hysterectomy and a few bumps in the road I was back on my feet. June 2018 I was then diagnosed with primary triple negative breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy and chemo to treat it and was soon cancer free again. During this time I was told I had tested positive for the Brca 2 gene. This is a gene that increases the chances of cancer. I may also have passed this to my beautiful daughters. Who can't be tested until they're 18. I chose to undergo a double mastectomy and have my ovaries removed to reduce the chances of it returning. However, just a few months later I was told it had returned and spread. Making it stage 4 incurable breast cancer.

This is a long story short. I've had so many set backs and things go wrong. My poor family have suffered so much. I'm on palliative treatment for as long as it works. I have scans every 3 months. Recently underwent radiotherapy and more reconstruction. And am awaiting further surgery.

All this obviously means I can't work. I hate not working more than any of this. But I get too poorly to hold down a regular Job. My husband is now self employed. Meaning if i'm ever poorly we can't afford for him to stay home. If we want a holiday we can't afford his time off work to come. Alongside wanting to make as many memories as possible that seem like they'll never be possible. I never had critical illness cover. So let this be a reminder to look into it no matter how old you are.

So here I am. I know this won't sit well with some people (myself included). However this situation is unimaginable. I'd just like to take some stress off my husband mainly who has always worked so hard to support and provide for us. Thankyou for reading.
