Hi my name is Amy Tuel (Brunner) my cousin Taji North is currently hospitalized in McAllen, Texas. While going on a "quick trip" to visit family in that area and to enjoy some warm weather after completing her first five rounds of chemo against Non-Hogkins Lymphoma.

 

Taji was admitted into the hospital on Sunday, after going to the ER for a medical emergency. She was having extreme difficulty breathing. The discovered she has full blown pneumonia, and both lungs are full.

 

Currently they have her on 6 liters of oxygen but she is still struggling. In order to be stable enough to be realised she needs to get down to 2 liters of oxgen. Doctor are keeping a close eye on her, since the cancer, pneumonia, and covid tests are coming back positive/negative.

 

On top of the stress of being sick and away from home. We have learned that the hospital doesn't take her insurance. Currently Taji's insurance also doesn't want to pay, as she is out of network.

 

The short staffed billing department is working hard trying to resolve the issue but no updates as of now.

 

Taji and Chad are going to have a lot of extra expenses as Chad will be in Texas with Taji until she is well enough to be discharged and travel. The doctors have also said she will need continued therapy once she is back home on top of her continued fight against cancer.
