Hi everyone, my name is TaJay, and I’m reaching out for support after a life-changing emergency. On Sunday, December 7th in Fairfield, CA, I was hit by an Amtrak train. The impact shattered both of my knees, tore multiple ligaments, and left me unable to stand, walk, or return to work. As I write this, I’m still processing everything and trying to figure out how to survive the weeks and months ahead.
Since the accident, I’ve already undergone two emergency knee surgeries, had six surgical screws placed, and had ligaments in both legs repaired. The pain is intense, my mobility is extremely limited, and I have a long road of follow-up appointments and physical therapy ahead. I am unable to work and have zero income right now, which puts me at immediate risk of losing my home.
I’m asking for help because my monthly rent and basic living expenses are more than I can cover while I recover. Every donation will go toward keeping a roof over my head, paying medical bills and prescriptions, buying food and essentials, and getting to my doctor and therapy appointments. This accident changed my life in seconds, but I’m grateful to be alive. I’m doing everything I can to stay strong and keep my home, but I cannot do it alone. Any amount makes a difference, and a share means just as much as a donation. Your kindness right now means the world to me. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for giving me a chance to stay stable while I fight to heal.
