Help Tai Rebuild After Losing Everything in a Truck Fire
A Family Fighting to Start Over
For years, Tai, K‑Linda, and their little boy TJ have been scraping by, doing everything they can to build a stable life. They moved to Orange to stay with family while trying to get back on their feet. Tai worked any job he could find - long hours, unpredictable shifts, whatever it took - but nothing was steady enough to support his family.
Recently, things finally began to turn around. Tai secured a reliable plant job across the Rainbow/Veterans bridges, and for the first time in a long time, he felt hope. He started saving for a place of their own. They were finally moving forward.
A Terrifying Afternoon Changed Everything
Two weeks ago, while driving to work, Tai noticed a strong gasoline smell inside and around his truck - the result of an evap leak he had been trying to diagnose. Before he could even make it to his shift, the situation escalated.
While going through the drive‑thru of a fast‑food restaurant, the truck suddenly caught fire. Flames spread fast. Tai had only seconds to react. He had to jump out and run to avoid being seriously injured.
By the time help arrived, the truck was completely destroyed.
He lost everything inside it -
• his phone
• his work gear
• his personal necessities
• and the truck itself, his only means of getting to work
This wasn’t just a vehicle. It was his lifeline.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Tai had just begun saving for a home for his family. Now, every dollar he had set aside must go toward replacing the truck so he can keep his job.
He’s borrowing his mom’s car for now, but that’s only temporary. He must secure a reliable work truck to stay employed and continue rebuilding his family’s future.
Our Goal: $10,000 to Help Tai Get Back on the Road
We are asking for $10,000 to help Tai secure a safe, reliable used truck so he can keep his job and continue providing for his family. This amount will cover the required down payment, TT&L, and the initial costs needed to get him back on the road after losing everything in the fire.
A dependable used truck in Southeast Texas typically requires:
• $4,500–$6,000 down payment
• $1,800–$2,300 TT&L
• Additional funds for basic essentials he lost in the fire — his phone, work gear, and personal necessities
Reaching this goal will give Tai the chance to rebuild what was taken from him in seconds. It will allow him to keep his job, continue supporting his family, and finally move toward the stability they’ve been fighting for.
Every donation brings this young family one step closer to a fresh start. Thank you for helping Tai rise from this setback and reclaim the future he’s been working so hard to build.
For a family starting over from scratch, that kind of money is impossible to pull together overnight.
A Hand Up, Not a Handout
Tai is a hardworking father who has never stopped trying - even when life kept knocking him down. This fire took everything from him at the worst possible moment, but he’s determined to keep going.
He isn’t asking for charity.
He’s asking for a chance.
If you’re able, please help him raise the funds for a down payment and TT&L so he can secure a safe, reliable truck and keep providing for his family.
Every Dollar Makes a Difference
No amount is too small. Every contribution helps Tai take one step closer to stability, safety, and a fresh start.
Thank you for helping this young family get back on their feet - or in this case, back on wheels.
