Help Tacoma Photo Center Expand Community Film Processing

Tax deductible
Tacoma Photo Center is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) community darkroom and photography space dedicated to keeping analog photography accessible through affordable lab services, classes, workshops, and public programming in Tacoma, Washington.

Over the past year, our community film lab & darkroom has grown significantly. More people than ever are shooting film, attending classes, and trusting Tacoma Photo Center with their memories and creative projects. With that growth, our current hand-processing workflow for customer C-41 color film is becoming difficult to sustain long-term.

Right now, every roll of customer color film is processed entirely by hand by volunteers. To help support the next stage of Tacoma Photo Center’s growth, we’re raising funds to purchase and install a Noritsu QSF-T15 C-41 film processing machine.

This fundraiser specifically supports improvements to our customer film processing workflow. Our community darkroom, DIY film developing access, and educational programming will continue to remain a core part of Tacoma Photo Center’s mission.

This equipment would help us:

  • Improve turnaround times for customer drop-off film
  • Increase processing consistency and reliability
  • Reduce volunteer workload and burnout
  • Expand processing capacity for the growing film community
  • Help keep community film processing affordable and accessible

Estimated Project Costs:

  • Noritsu QSF-T15 purchase: ~$10,000
  • Freight and transportation: ~$2,000
  • Installation and setup: ~$1,000
  • Initial chemistry and supplies: ~$500
  • Maintenance and repair contingency: ~$1,500

Total Fundraising Goal: $15,000

Any additional funds raised beyond the initial purchase goal will help support long-term maintenance and continued access to affordable community film processing and education at Tacoma Photo Center.

Whether you donate or simply share this fundraiser, we truly appreciate your support for community darkrooms and analog photography in Tacoma.
