My brother Anastacio "Tacho" De La Riva and sister-in-law Stacy lost everything they own on Tuesday April 29th.

While getting ready for bed, their fire alarm alerted them to a fire on their first floor. Stacy rescued one of the cats and began to pound on neighbors doors to alert them of danger. Tacho stayed on the second floor searching for their second cat and trying to gather valuables. He quickly found that the fire had trapped him upstairs and had to escape through the second floor window. He suffered several injuries that required stitches and some minor lung irritation from smoke inhalation.

Sadly, their second cat "Boots" did not make it out of the fire.

Tacho & Stacy are extremely lucky to have made it out of the fire with their health intact, however other than their phones and the clothes on their backs, they lost all of their possessions including the ashes of their beloved pets that passed in previous years.

We are asking for support from our family, friends, and community to help them get back on their feet. They not only need the very basic essentials, but also have unexpected expenses related to the loss of Boots and need to secure a new place to live.
