My Music Story

I've been singing my whole life:

- I participated & won local talent shows

- Classically trained in Opera and Musical Theatre for 10+ years

- The lead in my high school musical

- I led our choir at our high school graduation

- Received Honorable mention at a NATS vocal competition

- Attended a summer program in NYC at CAP21 Professional Musical Theatre Program (Lady Gaga went there)

- Got accepted to Oklahoma City University, a private school that focused on performing arts (Chenoweth went there)

However, I always felt a disconnect to both Opera and Musical Theatre. So I left music for a few years and tried to find something that made me as happy as singing. I backpacked Europe on my own, moved to Austin Texas, and tried a plethora of odd jobs including working on a boat on the Mississippi River. It wasn’t until the world shut down during COVID that I finally started songwriting. The songs poured out of me in such a free, easy way. I finally found what I’d been looking for.

Since then, I moved to NYC, regularly attended open mic nights, and became a part of the local music community.

- I became a member of the house band at Otto's Shrunken Head in the East Village

- Lead singer in a Led Zeppelin cover band

- Wrote music for local bands

- Performed weddings

- Joined the punk/rock band, Madkat and the TM’s, as a background singer. We gigged all over NYC to the lead's original music for 2 years

Throughout that time I continued to write my music. I attended two music production courses at 343 Labs in Chelsea but slowly realized that music production was not for me. I prefer songwriting and singing. I changed my name in June 2025 to my middle name because I felt I grew into it and I started writing this new album under my new name, Tabitha.

How I Met My Producer

In October 2025, Madkat and I were invited to perform for Master Plan. A private, intimate, tiny desk style recording session in Harlem. Daniel Stringer, my now producer, had been providing sound for this project for over 5 years. Daniel has interned at Electric Lady Studio (my dream studio) and worked with Lauryn Hill. He seemed excited about the project so I emailed him all 9 of the recent demos I’d created since June. Our first session will be at the top of the New Year in his Brooklyn studio.

Where’s the Money Go?

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO CREATING THIS ALBUM. Specifically: producing, hiring session musicians, mixing, mastering, and publishing.
