On January 7th, doctors discovered three masses in my left breast. At this moment, I do not have a confirmed diagnosis. My doctor does not currently believe it is cancer, but further testing is required to rule that out. I now urgently need a diagnostic mammogram and biopsies to understand what is happening in my body.

This comes on top of ongoing, documented health issues I’ve been battling for years — endometriosis and adenomyosis — conditions that cause chronic pain and have already significantly impacted my quality of life. My doctors believe my treatment plan will likely include hormonal injections over the next year, and possibly a hysterectomy if medication does not work. These injections may temporarily induce early menopause as part of treatment.

I am sharing this not for pity, but because I need help.

Medical care in the United States is simply not financially possible for me. The costs of imaging, biopsies, medications, and potential surgery are overwhelming. Seeking treatment in Costa Rica gives me a realistic chance to access care faster and at a fraction of the cost — but it is still far more than I can manage alone.
