Dear Friends and Supporters,
We urgently appeal for your help on behalf of Tabish Masih, son of Nasir Masih, a brick kiln laborer from Chak No. 184, Kot Nizam Din, District Nankana Sahib, Pakistan.
Tabish works tirelessly to support his three young children and elderly parents. Trapped in a cycle of generational poverty and malnutrition, he was forced to take an advance loan—an all-too-common practice among brick kiln workers. Today, he faces a crippling debt of PKR 500,000 (approx. USD 1,800).
Despite his hard work, Tabish receives less than the legal minimum wage, as deductions are made toward the loan. This exploitative system keeps his family in modern-day slavery. With no way out, they are now considering giving one of their children to a wealthy family in desperation.
“Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?”
— James 2:15–16 (NIV)
