Help Tabby Rebuild After a Year of Heartbreak, Hardship & Hope
Tabby has been fighting through one of the most difficult chapters of her life. If you know Tabby, you know she is strong, loving, hardworking, and stubborn in all the best ways. She’s the kind of person who shows up for others, even when she’s hurting. What she endured in 2025 would break anyone’s spirit, yet she continues to push forward.
In March of 2025, Tabby lost the federal government position she had worked so hard to earn. Overnight, her financial stability vanished, and she was forced to begin job hunting immediately. Only months later, Tabby was hit with the news no parent ever wants to hear: she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery, followed by months of recovery and reconstruction, a journey that stretched painfully through the holiday season. She faced every step with courage, even on the days that felt impossible.
Just when she hoped 2026 would bring healing and peace, tragedy struck again. Her beloved husky, Dakota—her companion, her emotional support, her family—suddenly required life-saving emergency surgery to remove part of Dakota’s lungs. This life-saving surgery came with an overwhelming cost, made even harder by the fact that Dakota had no pet insurance. But Tabby didn’t hesitate. Dakota survived, and is now known as “Miracle Dakota”—her miracle—and she chose love over fear.
While Dakota is recovering, she will now require ongoing veterinary monitoring, follow-up visits, and continued care to ensure her long-term health, adding to the financial strain Tabby is already facing. Tabby has recently started a new job and is doing everything she can to rebuild her life. But between mounting medical bills, Dakota’s emergency veterinary costs, and the financial strain, the burden is simply more than one person can manage alone.
Please consider donating—and sharing this GoFundMe. Your kindness will help Tabby and her Miracle Dakota move forward into a brighter, more hopeful chapter. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our truly incredible daughter and her Dakota.
