Help Syniah Parker Stay at Howard University

Hello, my name is Syniah Parker, formally known as Syn to my professors and friends at Howard University. I am a rising junior from North New Jersey, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Criminology. I am also a proud member of the Showtime Marching Band.
During my first year at Howard University, all my student information was kept in a system called Bison Web. During the summer of 2024, Howard University switched from Bison Web to a new system called Bison Hub. In doing so, they failed to properly transfer all the information of their students, including their financial information. Due to this error, many of us were able to register for classes normally for the 2024-2025 school year, with some people even receiving refund checks. Therefore, many of us believed we were in good financial standing with Howard University. However, on June 4th, 2025, Howard sent out an email notifying students of their remaining balances from the 2023-2024 school year. We were then told that we had until July 31st, 2025, to completely pay off our balances if we wanted to be able to register for the 2025-2026 academic school year.
As a first-generation college student, it is extremely important for me to be able to pursue my education. I've never pictured a future without me obtaining a degree. I've been able to make it this far by the grace of God. Now I am asking for support as I owe $5,556 to Howard University. Due to financial hardships and persistent struggles, my family is not able to pay the amount due in the allotted time. It would mean the world to be able to continue my education and undergrad experience at Howard University. Anything helps, and if you can't personally donate, I just ask that you share my story.
