Hi, I’m Synia Y., a victim of a devastating house fire on November 10, 2025 in Fond du Lac Wisconsin. I’m also a single mom of four, and employed at a local foundry but most importantly- we’re safe! It’s been a month of being homeless, and our road towards normalcy continues to present setbacks. Right now, we’re living week to week in a small hotel room staying warm through Wisconsin’s brutal winter. Majority of my paycheck goes toward keeping us sheltered, and only a small percentage being saved for a new rental lease. Between work, their school, and caring for my children in this temporary space, every day feels like a balancing act but I’m holding onto faith and determination. We’re receiving food and clothing from local charities, Salvation Army, the food pantry, and St. Vincent de Paul. What we need most now is help securing a stable home again. Every dollar donated (minus the GoFundMe fees) will go directly toward temporary shelter, security deposit, and the first two months’ rent for a new place.
