Help Symone Overcome Her Health Crisis
Donation protected
Hi my name is Misty. I am trying to raise money for my daughter Symone. She was born with a rare genetic disorder called CAPOS which has made her Deaf and with very little sight. June 27th was the last day that anyone including me had heard from her. On July 1st Symone was found unconscious in her dorm room. We believe she had been like that for 4 days. The EMTs were only able to get her to open her eyes and nothing else. She was then brought to the hospital where they found that she weighs only 100lbs at 20 years old and severely malnourished. She is currently still I'm the hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado where she was going to college. Symone was in the ICU until 2 am this morning then moved to the Progressive Care Unit. Shen she woke up long enough she had no idea where she was or why. She is unable to speak, walk, eat and she cannot use her hands to be able to communicate using sign language. She has not eaten in atleast 7 days and are considering a feeding tube. She is still very lethargic. She also currently has no health insurance so she is self pay which we can not afford. I currently reside in Maine so I am really far from her. She has no family or even friends there. She is all alone. We are currently trying to find a way to raise money so i can fly out to Colorado and stay with her until she is hopefully back to her normal self. I am also hoping to raise enough to where i can take care of her needs that she may have and then bring her home to Maine. The hospital said i will not be able to stay there with her so it will be very expensive to go there and unfortunately i cannot afford to right now. The doctors have still not been able to find out what has happened to her. They said it was possibly another seizure which is cause by her CAPOS or meningitis. The meningitis has since been ruled out but we still have no answers. If there is anyone that would be willing and able to help my daughter with her medical expenses and help me to get to her we greatly appreciate it. I love her more than words could ever express. I cannot leave her all alone out there. She deserves better than that.
Update: I was able to make it to see Symone. She is not doing very well except she was able to smile and say I love you im ASL and Mom. She is struggling and she can still not do much of anything else including walking, eating, moving much. She cries a lot but I don't know why and she cannot express it in any other way. I think she is asking for help but I don't know what she needs. I'm going to leave this up in case anyone can still help. I am trying to bring her belongings home for her so she doesn't loose everything and hopefully if she is eventually better and she is ok with it to bring her home until atleast she is back to normal and can make her own decisions again. I need and want to take care of her now in any way that I can. If you cannot help we understand. Thank you
