Hi, my name is Sylvia Nieves-Vazquez.

I am currently in the process of trying to secure a different vehicle. My current vehicle has been deemed inoperable and no longer street worthy.   I was told by my mechanic, "The structural frame of the vehicle is severely rotted, mostly under where the driver is located.  The sub frame, which is also a structural part of the vehicle that supports the engine, transmission, and steering/suspension, is severely rotten and has a hole in it.  This is my biggest concern.  If the sub frame were to separate steering, braking can be lost."  This vehicle was gifted to me by my church, but they are no longer capable of providing this service. I am on a fixed income, and between my rent and other expenses I am incapable of purchasing a vehicle on my own or carrying a car note. My disabilities make it difficult for me to get around to my 2-3 different doctor's appointments per week. Despite my health issues, I assist my daughter-in-law, who does not drive, with my granddaughter. At times I volunteer with my church and try to assist other residents in my building with errands. I am asking for help to secure a vehicle that is street worthy so that I can continue to be independent and assist those that are less fortunate than me.
