Help Sylvia Overcome Cancer's Financial Strain

Donation protected
Hello my name is Lakesha and On November 3, 2024, my amazing mother (Sylvia) was diagnosed with stage 2 metastatic breast cancer. In December 2024, she began her chemotherapy journey with high hopes and a strong spirit, ready to fight this disease with everything she had.

In late March of this year, after a change in medication, everything shifted. The new treatment caused severe side effects—constant nausea, extreme fatigue, and muscle weakness that made it hard for her to even sit up or stand without help.

The woman who had always been vibrant, independent, and full of energy suddenly found herself unable to do the simplest things on her own.

She’s had to take an unplanned leave of absence from work as she focuses on healing, and while she has health insurance through her job and Medicare Part A (which covers hospital stays), it doesn’t begin to cover the full cost of her treatments and care.

The out-of-pocket expenses have been overwhelming. Every doctor visit comes with a $50 co-pay. Lab work to monitor her numbers costs $96 each time. With treatment paused temporarily so she can regain strength with steroids, and still three rounds of chemo left—followed by a possible 6 to 8 weeks of radiation—we are doing everything we can to keep up. But the costs are stacking up fast.

Her husband is on a fixed income, and the loss of her work income, along with the high medical bills, household expenses, and groceries, has left them financially strained.

We are turning to our community for help—friends, family, and kind strangers—because we can’t do this alone.
We are asking for $50,000 to help cover:

Ongoing chemo and radiation treatments

Co-pays and lab work

Prescription medications (like prednisone)

At-home bills and groceries while she is out of work

Supportive care to improve her quality of life and recovery

Any donation, big or small, makes a difference. If you aren’t able to give, please consider sharing this campaign with your network. Just one share could bring in the support she needs to continue this fight.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, support, and kindness. Watching someone you love face such a battle is heartbreaking—but your help gives us hope. All donations will be utilized in the form of paying off any an all doctors bills collected during her treatment., in the amount of roughly around $7,000. Another $1,500 will help to maintain some bills, and the last $1,500 will help to aid in household needs like groceries and other supplies needed to continue to gain strength and stamina to get through this fight! Again thank you all for either sharing, sending a prayer and or giving a donations it is all very much appreciated!
