Help Sylvia Beat Glioblastoma
Donation protected
Sylvia Cypcarz, known as a wonderful mother of two boys and the fantastic wife of Daniel Cypcarz, was born in Poland and then immigrated to Canada in her twenties. The move made Sylvia adapt, and thanks to her hardworking nature, she made it work. She worked 18-hour shifts while also studying to finish her degree and care for her children. Sylvia obtained her degree from St. Clair College and started on a pathway to work as a chemical engineer.
In 2019, she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme. She underwent brain surgery on June 10, 2019. Subsequent MRIs showed successful removal, but she would still have to endure chemotherapy and radiation.
Through all the chemotherapy, radiation and clinical trials, she painstakingly worked diligently to recover and be there for her family.
Unfortunately, recent scans have shown recurrence of the glioblastoma. After multiple doctors had told us there was no possible way to resect the tumour, Sylvia’s only recourse was to restart chemotherapy. After a second round of chemotherapy failed to halt the tumour's progression, she found a new technology in Europe which was founded in Germany utilizing NanoTherm technology that can stop the growth of the tumour and kill the cancerous cells without damaging the surrounding healthy cells.
This is where we humbly ask for help as the treatment will cost in excess of $70,000. Any funds donated towards Sylvia’s cause will be used towards this treatment to improve her health and save her life. Any extra donations will be donated to fund cancer research to provide treatment for others and hopefully some day provide a cure for this scourge so that no one else has to walk this heartbreaking road that my mother has so courageously endured. We appreciate your help and hope to spread the word about my mom's treatment around the community.
