Help Sylvia afford care at Stanford!

Hi,

My name is Sylvia Colt-Lacayo. I am a senior at Skyline High School in Oakland, California. I have recently been accepted into Stanford University!

Due to my disability (Muscular Dystrophy) I need 24 hour care. I am confined to a wheelchair, and need assistance with bathing, dressing and sleeping. Unfortunately, social services will only pay for an attendant for approximately 35 hours a week.

I am looking for financial support to help pay for my care so that I can accept my admission.

This is an amazing opportunity that I have worked very diligently towards. I have a weighted GPA of 4.25 and am ranked 8th in my senior class. I have been been involved in many extracurricular activities. I am an active member of my Associated Student Body. This summer, I was an intern for the Alameda County District Attorney's Office Human Trafficking Unit. I have been an active member of the Youth Advisory Council at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital for 4 years. I have also been the Muscular Dystrophy Association Goodwill Ambassador for California for several years. Finally, I have been the Co-Captain of the Mock Trial team at my school for the past 4 years.

Being apart of the 2,000 students admitted to Stanford every year is an incredible gift that I would love to take advantage of. Please support my cause by donating and spreading the word, it would me mean the world to me.
