Hi, my name is Sydney, and I’ve been living with severe endometriosis since I was diagnosed at just 20 years old. This is not easy to write — asking for help is the hardest thing I’ve ever done — but I’ve reached a point where I no longer have any other option.
Over the years, I’ve had to undergo six operations to remove endometriosis. Two of these surgeries revealed serious organ damage — I nearly lost a kidney, and I’ve had my appendix removed. My most recent surgery lasted eight hours and gave me my longest period of relief. It also gave me the greatest blessing of my life: it allowed me to conceive my son.
But now the pain is back — and it's worse than ever.
For the past eight months, I’ve endured repeated flare-ups and have been to A&E three times in sheer agony. During this time, doctors discovered I now also have gallbladder damage. Despite this, I’ve been told that due to the immense pressure the NHS is currently under, I may have to wait until after Christmas for surgery.
The pain is relentless. I’ve had to miss work, and I’m relying on strong opioid medications just to get through the day. I’m exhausted physically and mentally. I just want my life back.
After much thought, I’ve looked into having the surgery done privately, which would mean getting the care I urgently need much sooner. However, the cost is staggering — £15,000 to £20,000. My family are doing what they can to help me, but we can’t cover the full cost alone.
If I can raise even half the amount, it would bring me a huge step closer to finally getting the surgery and the relief I desperately need.
I never thought I’d be here — making a public plea like this. But this is my last resort. If you can donate anything at all — or simply share this page — it would mean the world to me. You’d be helping me get back to the life I miss, to being a present and pain-free mum, and to living instead of just surviving.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you.
With love and gratitude,
Sydney
