A few days ago, our dear friends’ son, Syam, experienced a terrible accident. He suffered a major break through the middle of his left femur, along with fractures at both his hip and knee. He underwent surgery to repair the damage, which included inserting a rod, plate, and screws to stabilize the bone.

This accident has turned the family’s life upside down overnight. While insurance will cover some of the costs, there are many expenses that won’t be covered, including essential equipment, supplies, services and supportive therapies to aid his recovery.

Syam is now facing a long and challenging recovery ahead—potentially taking years before he’s fully back to full strength and mobility. This will involve ongoing rehabilitation, follow-up medical care, and additional supportive treatments over time.

On top of this, Syam will be out of work for many months and his father, Rupa, has had to take off time from work to care for him during the critical early stages of healing. This means the family is facing not only unexpected medical costs but also a temporary loss of income.
