Good day,

my name is Nina, and I started The Three Little Birds Project a little over one year ago to help dogs in need on the island of Saint Martin/Sint Maarten.

The dog population here is very large and many volunteers like me try to promote free sterilisation as best as we can. I started networking among local families to explain the benefits in a respectful and gentle way.

Yesterday I was introduced to a lovely elderly lady who is completely overwhelmed with her current situation. She has fourteen adult dogs and fourteen 3-week old puppies living with her.

She would like to get 24 dogs adopted, but before that can be initiated, the dogs need to be vet checked, vaccinated, sterilised (if their age allows it) and groomed. There are about 6 dogs that are very, very matted, you can see it in the photos. Grooming alone for one of these dogs is $65.00.

The funds raised in this campaign will be used to prepare all dogs for adoption, make sure they are healthy and spayed/neutered so no more unwanted litters are possible. This owner reached out for help, and I am so happy about it.

Too many other dog owners sadly choose to dispose of unwanted dogs and litters like garbage (in boxes by the side of the road or tying them up near a busy road).

This case is different and allows us to give these dogs the best care and help possible!
