Tomiko has successfully undergone her procedure and is now resting comfortably at home with her loving 'paw-rents'! According to the vet, she did great during surgery—now that's half the battle. The next steps involve follow-ups and therapy. She’s so happy to be home and has been an absolute trooper through it all. Your support and well-wishes are truly helping her stay strong! Meet Tomiko, a beautiful, loving, and loyal 5.5-year-old Akita who has been through more challenges than most pets (or humans!) can imagine. Tomiko’s story is one of resilience, love, and determination.

Her family—Diana, her husband, and Tomiko—escaped the horrors of war in Ukraine last year. Despite being advised to leave Tomiko behind, Diana refused to abandon her beloved "dog-ter" and fought tirelessly to ensure their trio made it safely to the United States. They settled in Cleveland, hoping to build a peaceful life.

But this New Year brought an unexpected challenge. Tomiko began experiencing severe respiratory issues that led to major thoracic surgeries. The costs of her care—totaling over $8,000—are overwhelming, and Diana is doing everything she can to save her beloved girl.
