My name is Kenyatta, and I am the Co-Owner of City Cakes & Pastries DBA Sweet Red Peach Bakery & Custom Cakes on Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena. We’re a small, independent bakery in Pasadena, Sweet Red Peach, that’s been serving our community with love and dedication. Today, I’m reaching out because we’re facing an unexpected crisis that threatens our ability to stay open and keep our team safe.

Recently, thieves climbed onto our roof and completely destroyed our commercial air-conditioning system. They forced open the rooftop unit and ripped out the high-grade copper wiring and condensing coils to sell for scrap metal. While they walked away with a small amount of scrap cash, they left us with thousands of dollars in damage and a completely unusable HVAC system. The theft has also affected our walk-in refrigeration system. Temperatures are no longer operating properly, and we are working to determine whether the damaged electrical wiring is impacting multiple parts of the bakery.
