Description: Help Sweet Odie Trade His Limp for a Run
Just before Christmas, an 18-month-old puppy was found hiding in bushes on a street with a painful limp in his back leg. That puppy is Odie - and he needs surgery to run again. For nearly two months, Odie waited in the shelter with his injury untreated. While other dogs were adopted and went home with families, he remained, sweet, gentle, and quietly overlooked. I couldn’t stop thinking about him, so I brought him home to foster, determined to get him the care he needed and the life he deserves. From the first day, Odie has shown nothing but love. He’s incredibly sweet, full of personality, and eager to trust. He leans into affection, wags his tail at every kindness, and looks at you with pure gratitude.
After a full veterinary exam, we learned Odie has serious injuries in his right hind knee affecting how he walks and runs. Pain medication helps for now, but it’s only temporary. Without surgery, he will continue to live with pain and limited mobility. Odie is still just a baby. Even with his injury, he tries to run when he gets excited, and then limps afterward. He should be running and playing, not slowing down because his leg hurts. Surgery will give Odie the chance to live a full, pain-free life and eventually find the loving forever home he deserves.
If you’re able to donate or share Odie’s story, you’ll be helping give this sweet Christmas boy the second chance he’s been waiting for. Odie has already waited months for help. We're hoping his second chance starts now. Thank you for helping Odie run again. With gratitude, Paul
