Hello everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this about Laura Linkoff's new fight. Laura is a beautiful mom, a doating grandmother, a loving friend, and just a kind, gentle and sweet woman to everyone she meets.
On May 3, 2017, we found out that the lumps were Cancer - in her left breast and lymph node. Everything happened so fast, yet seems like it is in slow motion. It's only been a few weeks, but so many dr appointments, a biopsy, MRI's, PET scans, and more biopsy's planned - and all after a clean mammogram only one year ago. Laura's world got rocked, and we need to rally around her. We are still learning more about her diagnosis, but we know enough to begin this journey and start fighting! Her prognosis is positive, and she will start Chemo on Thursday. We find out this week if this will be for four months (Stage 3) or one year (Stage 4), then she will have suregery to have her left breast removed and then begin radiation treatment.
Friends, she hasn't even begun the treatments yet and the medical expenses and bills have added up. She has missed damn near the last month of work and is only going to miss more with treatment starting soon. She has medical insurance, but She doesn't have disability insurance.
Laura is one of the most selfless people I have ever known, and is always there to give her love and support to anyone who needs it. Now it is time that we send that love and support right back! I am reaching out to her amazing and supportive network of friends and family to help in any way possible. We want her to stay positive, and strong on this road ahead! Therefore, worrying about whether she can pay her rent or afford treatments, should not be a part of this fight. ANY amount that you can comfortably donate, will be greatly appreciated and go directly to her medical treatment costs (chemo, radiation, medications), her surgery and reconstruction procedures, bill and expenses that add up while she is out of work, and any other unanticipated cost or necessity that came along with this fight.
I am so sad to have to create this kind of request, but I will also be sure to share and blog her milestones and victories with you too! She will fight this and win! Any and all types of prayers, or positive vibes are welcome, to help boost her energy! Thank you for any support!
