Help sweet Issey kitty fight for her life

After one of the most heartbreaking and difficult years of my life, the year that I lost my father very suddenly to brain cancer, I am now faced with a devastating life and death situation with my beloved kitty Issey a week before Christmas. I write this to share Issey’s story and to ask for support in a heartbreaking crisis.

I rescued Issey off the streets of LA eleven years ago. She has been a constant companion and friend to me, especially this year. She is one of the kindest and sweetest kitties I have ever known, and to be in the current situation we are in is unfathomable.

This morning, Issey was very lethargic and in pain out of the blue. She is normally a very healthy kitty and so it was a shock to see her struggle. I immediately took her to the vet who diagnosed her with acute kidney failure, and her blood values were off the chart. She was put on IV fluids as tests were run. We do not yet know the cause of her catastrophic kidney failure. Tonight, Issey is in the emergency room receiving more intensive care and testing to try to save her life. So far today, the vet bills have totaled $7000, and will be increasing. I am pulling together every resource I have to try to save Issey’s life, and I am hopeful that people find empathy for her, and her heartbroken mom in this terrible situation.
