Bailey is a much loved colony cat and is one of the sweetest and friendliest cats you’ll ever meet. Due to his friendly nature, the feeders wanted to rehome him for a long time but were advised against it as that will upset local residents who also feed and adore him. Recently Bailey was observed to be losing weight, slower and drinking more fluids than usual. Concerned for his health, the feeders acted swiftly, taking him off the street into foster care.
The kind feeders have already paid for a health check, full comprehensive bloods, FiV test and prescribed medications (these will not be included in the GFM). Results from his bloods showed many issues including anaemia, infection/inflammation, low protein levels and worryingly, high kidney creatinine levels indicative of level 3 renal failure. Vet recommended further diagnostic imaging - ultrasound & X-ray and a urine test. Imaging confirmed enlarged kidneys and fluids in both chest and abdominal cavities. Fluid in those areas is consistent with kidney lymphoma. His symptoms are currently managed by medication.
This poor boy needs your help to cover the diagnostic and vet costs of his condition. Vet said his prognosis is poor. We wish this outcome is very different as he deserves longer to be spoiled but we will take it day by day and make the dreaded decision when the time comes.
Your kind support, no matter how small, counts. If you’re unable to donate, please share this GFM.
