Help Our Sweet Cooper Heal
Hi, my name is Cassie — some of you may know me as the mom behind the artist cat Audrey (@audreycatspeaks). Audrey’s basset hound brother, Cooper (affectionately called Coopy), has had a very tough year and needs help.
What Happened
Back in April, Cooper needed emergency surgery after a freak accident with a stick that punctured his intestine. While the surgery saved his life, the repair wasn’t done as well as it should have been.
Two weeks ago, Cooper suddenly became very sick. He was initially diagnosed with pancreatitis and spent time in the hospital, but even after treatment, he continued to get worse. The vets couldn't figure out what was wrong and told us they needed to perform emergency exploratory surgery to find the cause.
The surgery revealed the true issue - the section of intestine replaced in April was left much wider than the rest of his intestine. This caused food to collect in that area, making him extremely sick. His new surgeon was able to go in and correct the problem.
Why We’re Fundraising
We’re raising funds to help cover:
*Emergency vet visits and diagnostic testing
*The second surgery and hospitalization
*Medications and ongoing recovery care
*Follow-up appointments to make sure he heals properly
The bills have added up quickly, and this second, unexpected surgery has put a real financial strain on us.
Why This Means So Much
Cooper is the sweetest, goofiest soul — he loves belly rubs and making everyone around him smile. He means the world to our family, and to Audrey too (she’s been wandering the house meowing, looking for her brother).
Your support will help us give Cooper the healthy, happy life he deserves after such a hard start to the year.
How You Can Help
*Donate, if you’re able — no amount is too small
*Share this fundraiser with friends, family, or animal-loving communities
*Send love and healing wishes — we read every comment and it truly helps us keep going
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us get Cooper through this. We’re so grateful for your kindness.
With love,
-Cassie, Audrey & Coopy
