My sweet Chonchis is only 7 months old. He is a Holland Lop I adopted from someone who was rehoming him, about to surrender him to a shelter- & from the moment he came into my life, he has brought so much joy, comfort, and love both in person and online.

Recently, Chonchis’ health has been declining. He has been experiencing seizures, and his legs have been getting weaker, which has been heartbreaking to witness. He has not been officially diagnosed yet, but after countless vet consultations, the concern is pointing toward E. cuniculi, a parasite that can affect the brain and nervous system, and can deeply impact a rabbit’s mobility and overall quality of life. Watching such a small, innocent baby go through something so frightening has been devastating, and after growing more concerned, I decided to ask for help finding a new vet, since his original doctor is temporarily unable to practice due to unforeseen circumstances.

I truly was not asking for much. I hesitated for a long time before even considering this, but after receiving more than 30 messages from people asking how they could contribute to Chonchis’ care, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. It moved me deeply to know that so many people care for him and want to help him. Though I was hesitant, I have come to understand that accepting support right now is part of doing everything I can for him. So many of you have loved him like your own, like his online aunts and uncles, and that kind of compassion is something I will never take lightly.

I do not come from money, and I work hard for everything I am able to provide. Asking for help does not come naturally to me, but Chonchis is just a baby, and I want to give him the best quality of life possible. His vet care, diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up appointments will be costly, and my only focus right now is making sure he has access to the care he deserves.

Chonchis is the sweetest little lop. He loves strawberries, open fields, being a tiny pellet pig, and enjoying lots of fresh veggies. He is gentle, loving, and has such a special softness about him. Over time, I have shared him with my online audience, and so many people have come to love him too. I often receive messages from people asking me to keep posting Chonchis because he brings them comfort, joy, and a sense of peace. In the middle of so much negativity online, in the news, at home, or in life in general, his presence has been a small but meaningful light. What began as me simply sharing a bunny I love has grown into something that has brought genuine happiness to others, and that means more to me than I can ever fully express.

I am starting this fundraiser to help cover the cost of an exotic vet visit, testing, possible medication, treatment, and any follow-up care he may need. Every donation, no matter the size, would mean so much to us. And if there is anything left over after helping Chonchis, I would want to pass that kindness on to someone else in need, because I truly believe money should circulate in times of hardship. Care, generosity, and community should continue reaching people whenever possible.
