Help Sweet Charlie Get Back on His Feet!
Tax deductible
We found Charlie under a car In Ditmas Park, Brooklyn about a week ago. This poor boy is a mess! His breathing is labored, he has difficulty walking because his paws are so bloody, he's tested a weak positive for FIV, he is anemic, and his teeth are a disaster. There is much decay and breakage and infection, and his gums are severely inflamed and bleeding. His fur was so matted that they had to cut off more hair than is still on him (I'll put a photo in the updates section). The vet tech had to scrub, soak and clean his paws (I'll put a photo in the updates section). We can't imagine what trauma he endured on his little feet. We hope that they will heal with time, but for now they are still bloody and raw.
As soon as he is strong enough, he will need dental surgery. We are also putting him on special supplements that will hopefully (please pray!) get the FIV out of his system. For now, he is resting quietly and enjoying the peace (and air conditioning) from being off the street.
Anything you can donate for his medical expenses -- the FIV supplements, the dental surgery, the antibiotics -- would be gratefully appreciated. We just want him out of pain and healthy.
