Hi everyone! We are a team of students from Saginaw Valley State University, proudly representing the SVSU Lunabotics Team. This year, we were ranked 32nd out of the 50 teams selected nationwide to compete in the NASA Lunabotics Competition at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, as part of the broader Artemis initiative. We will be competing alongside major schools like MIT and Purdue, and what makes this even more meaningful is that our team is made up entirely of undergraduate students. This is an opportunity we’ve worked toward for months, and it means more to us than we can fully put into words.
Lunabotics is where everything we’ve learned finally comes to life. It’s late nights, early mornings, and countless hours spent designing, building, and testing a rover from the ground up. It’s problem-solving when things don’t go as planned, pushing through setbacks, and learning how to rely on each other as a team. This isn’t just a project, it’s something we’ve poured our time, energy, and passion into every single day.
Now, we have the chance to take all of that work and bring it to NASA. To stand in a place we’ve only ever dreamed about, and represent not just our team, but our university and our Saginaw community. To show that students from here are capable of building something real, something innovative, and something worthy of being seen.
But the hardest part right now isn’t building the rover, it’s getting there.
Travel costs have become the biggest barrier standing between us and this moment. Our team is responsible for covering transportation, housing, and safely getting our rover and equipment to Florida. We’ve done everything we can to get this far, and we’re so close, but we can’t do this final step alone.
That’s why we’re asking for your help. If our community can come together, even in small ways, it would truly mean everything to us. Every donation brings us closer to being able to stand at NASA and show what we’ve worked so hard to create. This opportunity represents more than just a competition. It’s a chance to prove to ourselves that all the long nights were worth it. It’s a chance to represent where we come from with pride. And it’s a moment we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.
Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and helping us take this final step!
