This has been a really difficult decision to come to but at this time my family and I are asking for your help. Through July Svetlana has been slowly losing the ability to sit, lay down, and walk without being in debilitating pain. She took all measures, going to her pcp, exercises, medication, urgent care, sleeping in the guest room, and sleeping on the floor to feel just an ounce of comfort. Unfortunately this all came to a head on Saturday June 12th. Svetlana was rushed to the hospital near home for back pain then transferred to another hospital because the first one she went to didn’t have an mri tech or neurosurgeon on staff. Once at the new hospital she waited 24 hours for a mri. That day her neurosurgeon said that typically with these injuries we would send a patient to PT and do pain management medication but in this case she will be needing a surgery LAMINOTOMY AND DISCECTOMY on her LEFT L4-L5 . After 48 hours of more pain she did receive that surgery on 7.14. Svetlana discharged from the hospital on 7.15 and has been slowly recovering at home. While recovering she started to get her benefits in order for short term disability and found out that she had less benefits through work than what she initially thought which is putting her between a rock and a hard place to go back to work earlier than anticipated to make ends meet. We all know that Svetlana is a strong fighter and will do whatever she can for her friends and family but this time she truly needs a break to heal. We are asking friends and family for help during this emergent and unpredictable time in our lives to donate if you can or to please share this post. Our goal of $2500 is to cover the unexpected loss of some amount of benefits that are already accruing as well as some days that she will not be paid while out of work.
