URGENT DEADLINE: We need to raise the funds by January 30th. That is Less than a week. Please help as little or as much, share. Thank you.
Svenja and I have become close friends through our work as activists in the Indivisible CA27 group. She has always been there for me, supporting me in countless ways, including helping care for my elderly mother. Over the past months, our friendship has grown stronger, and I’ve seen firsthand how much Svenja gives to others, even when life isn’t easy for her. As a proud member of the LGBTQ community and a trans woman, Svenja faces unique challenges, but she always approaches life with courage and a positive attitude.
Recently, Svenja’s situation has become urgent. After losing a job she loved due to a single mistake, she spent months searching for work, only finding a few temporary assignments. When her roommate had to move away, Svenja was left to navigate a difficult rental situation. The landlords refused to let her sign a new lease or transfer to a more affordable place, and when she fell behind on rent by just one day, they refused her payment and began adding fees. Despite her best efforts—taking out loans, asking family for help, and never giving up—she now faces eviction and the threat of homelessness. The lease confusion and mounting legal fees have made it impossible for her to catch up on her own.
Svenja has finally secured a more stable job, but she urgently needs help to stay in her home and get back on her feet. Your support will help her catch up on rent, cover legal fees, and give her the stability she needs to move forward. We are deeply grateful for any help you can offer during this difficult time. Thank you for standing with Svenja and showing that our community cares.
