In March, I experienced a medical emergency that required surgery for a strangled hernia. After the initial procedure, I faced additional complications, including pneumonia and a sepsis gall bladder, which led to another hospitalization at Sonora Community Hospital. Due to my previous roux en y gastric bypass, I needed specialist doctors and was transferred to Lodi Adventist Health Hospital. My stay at Lodi lasted from April 6th to April 10th, 2026, after which I was released home without in-home care because it was unavailable.
During my hernia surgery, wound care specialists in Sonora applied a new product to my existing venous stasis dermatitis and ulcers on my lower legs. Unfortunately, this product caused a second-degree burn, resulting in extreme pain and making wound care even more difficult and expensive. Coping with these medical challenges has been overwhelming, both physically and financially.
The funds raised through this campaign will help cover the costs of wound care supplies, two future surgeries, transportation to medical appointments, and ongoing treatments for severe scoliosis. I am grateful for any support that may be presented to me now and in the future, as it will help my recovery be more efficient and ease the burden during this difficult time.
