My cousin Suzi spent the last year and a half caring for her elderly father after her mother passed away from pancreatic cancer in the span of three short months.
While caring for her father, as he grieved, she also needed to move both of them into new homes and help him while he recuperated after two hip surgeries. This is taking a huge financial toll on both of them and now she cannot pay her rent, which is due in two days.
Anything that you can do to help her get through this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.
This is from Suzi:
Dear Family & Friends,
For many years, when the call has been put out there, I have answered. When our city was flooded with migrants, I was there donating clothes, sorting clothes and helping to ensure they could start their lives on cold wintery days, when they arrived.
When there has been hygiene products needed, I have donated.
When there has been a call for diapers and formula, I have been there.
When it is time to fill the bins with food every Yom Kippur, I have loaded it up.
Now, I am humbled and very embarrassed to say, this time, I am in need. I am relying on the help of friends, family and the giving from people I don't know.
The past year and a half have been the most challenging of my life, to date. It started with Mom, who fell ill to pancreatic cancer. She had a very untimely not long after finding out her diagnosis. Since then, I have cared for my Dad and even had some health challenges of my own.
All of these things have drained me financially, which is what leads me to you. I am humbled and grateful for your contribution in any amount, as my situation is dire. I have to pay rent in 2 days and don't have the money to cover it.
My rent is due in 2 days from now and I do NOT have the funds to cover it. I also don’t have the money for my other bills, groceries, or gas.
As I continue to search and apply for my professional and career work, I picked up temp work just to start bringing income in. I am getting paid about what the college students at Starbucks get paid. I will get back to my previous salary, I just need a helping hand to get through this hurdle.
$5000 covers 1 month of expenses.
I am a philanthropic gem who cares for the people in my family, friends, and community. I am beyond grateful for cousin Kim for sending this out.
Thank you for your consideration in helping me, through these tumultuous times… actually, the toughest of my life!
If you are reading this on August 30th, it would have been Mom & Dad's 60th wedding anniversary.
If you can help and respond to my urgent need, with much gratitude and appreciation, I humbly say, THANK YOU.
