Help Suzi Fight for Her Life

Life can change in an instant. At the end of September 2024, our dear friend Suzi, a devoted mother, partner, sister, daughter, and fighter began her battle with an aggressive brain tumour. Since then she has spent her time doing everything she can to heal and find the best path forward but despite her efforts, the tumour has continued to grow.

Now, she faces an incredibly difficult decision. Surgery is an option, but it comes with enormous risks. The tumors size, shape, and location make removal highly dangerous, with the possibility of severe, life-altering outcomes, including permanent disability. Neurosurgeons have told her that even with surgery, they can’t remove the entire tumour, meaning cancer will remain. This makes ongoing treatment and healing even more important after surgery.

Suzi and her family have used all their savings to cover the growing costs of treatment, therapies, and specialists. Unable to work, she’s relied on loved ones, and her family has even stepped in to help with her boys' schooling. But the financial burden continues to grow, and that’s why we, her friends and family, are coming together to support her. We want to give Suzi the chance to focus on healing, rather than worrying about how to afford it.

Fighting for Mateja & Maksim

More than anything, Suzi is fighting for her two beautiful boys, Mateja and Maksim. They are her world, her greatest joy, and her pillar of strength through this battle. She needs to be there for them, to watch them grow, guide them, protect them, and continue being the loving mother they know and adore.

Every bedtime story, every milestone, every hug is something she refuses to give up. They are the reason she fights so fiercely. This is why she continues to do everything possible to build up her immune system, give her body the best chance at healing, and come out the other side stronger. She is not giving up because her boys need her, and she needs them.

Surgery and Immediate Healing

Suzi’s first major hurdle is undergoing surgery with a neurosurgeon in Sydney. While this is a necessary step, it’s not the cure. The tumour can’t be fully removed, meaning post-surgery treatment and ongoing healing will be critical to slowing its growth.

Her immediate medical needs include:

Flights to Sydney & accommodation for surgery – a significant additional expense

Supplements & vitamins – $1,500/month

IV therapy & hyperbaric oxygen treatments – $1,200/month

Organic, healing nutrition – ongoing costs

Specialist appointments & therapies – ongoing costs

Cost of living & the uncertainty of life after surgery

Continuing Suzi’s Healing Journey

Even after surgery, Suzi’s fight won’t be over because the tumour can’t be fully removed, she will need ongoing treatments and rehabilitation to give her the best chance at recovery. Her hope is to continue healing and exploring further treatment options that will support her body and health in the long term.
