Help Suzette Rebuild Her Family’s Home After the Typhoon
“Strong people don’t ask for help.”
Those who know our sweet Suzette know how kind, selfless, and generous she has always been. Today, she needs our support more than ever.
A devastating typhoon has struck Suzette’s family in the Philippines. Her elderly mother and sister were rescued from the roof of their flooded home, her baby nephew, sister, and sister’s partner were able to flee the floods while waiting to receive news about their mom and other sister. While everyone is deeply grateful that they survived, the destruction of their only home is heartbreaking — the house they once cherished now stands in ruins. The floodwaters rose through both the first and second floors, stopping only a few inches below the roof.
Suzette has worked tirelessly for many years, sacrificing her own needs to save enough money to buy her mother a small home — a place where she could live safely and peacefully in her later years. Now, that dream has been washed away, leaving nothing but bare walls. It’s hard to even know where to begin cleaning or rebuilding.
Funds will be spent to repair internal home structures such as room dividers, flooring, cabinetry and electrical outlets, and to replace appliances and furniture.
This is the season of giving, and I’m asking everyone to come together to help Suzette shoulder this heavy burden — to restore a safe home for her elderly mom and family. Suzette is one of the hardest-working and most resilient people we know, but even the strongest tree can break without the support of its forest.
No donation is too small. Every contribution is a way to show love, compassion, and solidarity with a dear friend during one of the most difficult times of her life.
Thank you all so much for your kindness and generosity!
P.S. My name is Marina Zakharova. I’m a close friend of Suzette’s, and we live near each other here in Central Florida. I’m organizing this fundraiser on her behalf to help her family rebuild after this devastating disaster.
