Our friend Suzanne Eberhardt lovingly cared for her dear Mother, Pat, in her home for many years. Her Mother passed away on Wednesday.
Here is her obituary listing: https://www.echovita.com/us/obituaries/ny/buffalo/patricia-j-eberhardt-19307861
As a caregiver myself, I know the financial challenges associated with giving up a career to care for a loved one, particularly when that caregiving journey happens prior to your own retirement. While it's done out of love, the financial pressure from such a decision is very real, especially in the immediate aftermath of loss.
Even while caring for her Mother, Suzanne has still helped Tim, who has ALS, & I by running errands for us and continuing to visit so we didn't fall into a hole of social isolation.
Though she doesn't talk about other people, I imagine she helped many of you too.
This fund will allow Suzanne time to grieve the loss of her Mother, get all the necessary paperwork done & adjust back to working again as a designer. Which we all want to see because she's tremendously talented.
