Suzanne Canfield's house in Morongo Valley CA burned down on 4/3/26. Suzanne barely escaped with her life, as she awoke in the middle of the night with her house already engulfed in flames and had to exit through her bedroom window as quickly as possible. Her beloved three animals perished: her dog Lucy, her cat Princess Elizabeth, and her rabbit Katie Rose. She escaped with nothing and has lost literally everything, including her car which also caught fire.
Financially this came at the worst timing possible: Suzanne was in the process of transferring the house title to her name, and was in the middle of an insurance lapse because she couldn't insure the house if it wasn't in her name. With no insurance, she has no recourse to get another home and is currently surviving with the help of friends. Suzanne is disabled after a major injury several years ago, and has been on a long-term healing journey. Getting out of her bedroom window to save her own life has exacerbated her injury and she is barely mobile.
If you've ever met her, you know Suzanne is extremely loving, friendly, compassionate, and fun. She loves animals and is absolutely gutted that this fire took her babies. She is an artist, metal worker, and is generally a very creative person.
Please contribute if you're able, this is a nightmare situation but we know that she will recover with a little help from her friends, family, and community. THANK YOU and God Bless You:)
