Hi, I'm Suzanne. I'm usually an upbeat, cheerful person, but facing my third cancer has got me down, especially since it's the same cancer (colon cancer) that killed my long-time love, Ron, 4 years ago.

Ever since he died, I've been struggling to meet the monthly expenses that used to be shared. My first two cancers, discovered a year and a half after Ron's death, depleted what remaining financial resources I had. I'm facing further treatment (my colon surgery was just two weeks ago) and I'm terrified that I'll have to take more time off if the chemo side effects are bad.

This month I'm not sure if I can make the mortgage payment due to the fact that just before I left the hospital, I was told I had to purchase $90 worth of medicine, which erased the thin margin I was on. Luckily, I'm strong enough to have survived the deadliest cancer there is (lung cancer), but I'm more scared of losing my home than I am of facing this current cancer!
