Help Sutton Overcome Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia
Donation protected
Anyone who knows me knows that my dog is my baby. He is the happiest, most energetic, loving, sweetest boy. Sutton is beyond loved, and a huge part of our family. Sutton has had health issues his whole life, starting as a stray in tennessee. He had multiple reconstructive surgeries to his genitalia due to being born with both female and male genitalia. I rescued sutton from a shelter back in august of 2021. He has lived a healthy, happy life as the most spoiled dog until this week. Suttons health has drastically decreased in the past week. I have been in and out of veterinary hospitals and emergency departments. Starting over the weekend, Sutton stopped eating, became extremely weak and could not maintain his balance enough to walk, and had extreme difficulty breathing. Sutton had a fever of 103, and was extremely anemic. His spleen is also enlarged as his body is trying to compensate for the lack of blood cells & oxygen it is losing. After multiple vet visits, the doctor has come to the conclusion that Sutton is suffering from an Autoimmune disorder by the name of Immune-mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). IMHA is a severe disorder where his bodies immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys its own red blood cells. This results in severe anemia, life threatening complications, difficulty breathing, collapsing due to the lack of oxygen to the body’s vital organs and tissues, high risk of blood clots and without the correct treatment, even death. With this unexpected condition, and many unexpected emergency vet visits, i am trying my best to get Sutton back to his happy, healthy self. With this being said, I am asking for extra help with the emergency vet costs. Sutton is currently hospitalized at an emergency hospital near Chicago receiving a blood transfusion, blood testing, x-rays, ultrasounds, and lots of medication. With the expenses of the medical bills, any donations are extremely appreciated. As animal lovers, you guys understand more than anything that animals are family. Help me get my Sutton Button healthy and bring him home.
