Our one-year-old Australian Shepherd, Sutton, is currently hospitalized, and our hearts are breaking. Over the past week and a half, we’ve been in and out of the emergency vet trying to figure out what is wrong with him. He’s been put on multiple medications, had moments where he seemed to improve, and then suddenly declined again.

Sutton is severely dehydrated, vomiting, passing blood, and may need to be seen by a specialist. Watching a dog at such a young age go through this has been devastating. He’s just a baby and does not deserve to be in this much pain or fighting this hard so early in life. We love our boy more than words can express, and the thought of losing him is absolutely heartbreaking.

As an 18-year-old, covering these emergency costs entirely out-of-pocket has been overwhelming and unexpected . The veterinary bills are quickly adding up and remain outstanding, on top of the constant travel back and forth to the hospital. The funds raised will go directly toward emergency vet bills, gas money, and any additional costs needed to get Sutton seen by a specialist to ensure he receives the care he needs and has the best possible chance at a full recovery. Without a diagnosis yet, we are facing many more vet bills and the uncertainty and heartbreak that comes with not knowing what’s next.
