Sustain RashidunDC Community Center: A Place of Worship and Unity
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We invite you to support a noble and transformative cause: the construction and ongoing maintenance of RashidunDC, our cherished community center and mosque. Our vision is to establish a lasting space for worship, learning, and community — a place where Muslims of all ages can come together to pray, grow in faith, and strengthen their bonds with one another.
RashidunDC is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to uplifting Washington, D.C.'s most vulnerable communities. Operating the Ar-Rashidun Community Center, they provide essential services such as homeless feedings, food assistance for seniors in housing units, youth programs, reentry initiatives, and a mosque that fosters spiritual growth and unity. Their impactful work has been recognized by the Islamic Community Center of Potomac, the Islamic Center of Maryland, ADAMS as well as several other organizations, which actively support RashidunDC's efforts.
Currently, RashidunDC faces a critical challenge: the landlord has sold their existing property, necessitating a move to a new location. To continue their vital services without interruption, they are seeking funds to secure a new property. Your support is crucial in helping RashidunDC maintain and expand their programs, ensuring they can continue to serve and empower the community effectively.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise” (Sahih Bukhari). By contributing to the creation and sustainability of this masjid, you are participating in a continuous charity (sadaqah jariyah) that brings blessings, not only in this life but also in the Hereafter, for you and your loved ones.
Our Goals for RashidunDC:
We aim to establish a masjid that will:
Provide a space for the five daily prayers, Jumu'ah, and Eid gatherings.
Offer programs in Quranic studies, youth mentorship, and family support.
Host community outreach events and build connections with other faith groups, fostering unity and understanding.
Why We Need Your Support:
To bring this vision to life, we need both initial funding for construction and ongoing support to ensure the center remains a vibrant place for worship and service. Our immediate financial needs include:
- Construction and Furnishing: Completing prayer spaces, constructing additional facilities, classrooms, and community rooms.
- Utilities and Maintenance: Ensuring the masjid is well-maintained with electricity, water, heating, and general upkeep.
- Educational Programs: Supporting Quran classes, youth programs, and community events.
- Community Programs: Feed The Hood Program, Prison Outreach and Re-Entry, and The Food Pantry
Your continued support will help us complete the masjid and provide the resources needed for its maintenance and programs, ensuring its impact for generations to come.
