Help Sustain Our Mission for Children

Tax deductible
Hello friends! My name is Lydia and together with my husband Jason, we are the founders of Little Seed and Kingdom Seed Academy. I am honored to share with you the backstory of these establishments.

In 2018, when my eldest son was just one year old, I felt the need to send him to daycare while I pursued my studies in education. We prayed, asking God to prepare the right daycare for him. One day, during prayer, God moved my heart and asked, "Why don't you start a family daycare yourself?" At the time, I hesitated because I lacked the necessary resources. However, I have always loved children, and had many years of experience serving in children’s ministry at church. I decided to obey this calling and God miraculously opened the doors. He quickly provided someone to help us with the license application and sent us Annie, a wonderful teacher to join us. We rented out our own home and moved into this new place that God provided, which was more suitable for daycare, and thus, we began Family Daycare.

Running Family Daycare made me realize that this is a calling I truly want to dedicate myself to. As I watched the beautiful children grow, I felt a deep desire to spend even more time with them. That’s when the idea of starting a daycare center began to take shape. With this vision in our hearts, we prayed together, asking God to guide us and help us find the right place. We came across a church that only leased to nonprofit organizations, so we decided to apply for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status under the name "Jesus Loves Children Mission Group" and signed a lease with them. At the same time, we made the decision to sell our property to fund the creation of the school.

However, just after we signed the lease, the pandemic hit, and the approval of our license was delayed. We waited for nearly a year, and eventually, the church canceled the lease agreement. Yet, at that moment, our nonprofit organization "Jesus Loves Children Mission Group" was approved. While we lost the building, we gained the nonprofit organization. Through this season, God’s purpose for us became clear. He protected us from losses during the pandemic and, more importantly, adjusted our hearts. He helped us start the school with a purer and more sincere purpose—to serve Him.

One day, during prayer, God spoke to my heart, saying: "Do not despise small children, for within them is an unshakable kingdom." He gave me the verse Matthew 13:31-32: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, when it grows, it becomes the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and rest in its branches."

This was truly God's call to us. Once we understood His will, He quickly opened another door—a new location at 630 Walnut. It was a standalone property, right next to a police station, offering a safe and perfect setting for a daycare. The paperwork process went smoothly, and we prayed for a Christian principal. God answered our prayers and provided us with Mr. Bo, a devoted brother in the Lord.

In July 2021, Little Seed Child Development Center officially opened. Every morning, teachers greet the children at the door, and after entering, the day begins with worship. I pray daily for each child and their family, for the unity of our team, and for our teachers. Teachers receive regular professional development and faith-based retreats. At Little Seed, the staff love one another in the Lord, like one family. We have sowed with tears and reaped with joy. By God's grace, the school filled up within just a few months without spending money on advertising, and the following year, more than 60 children were on the waiting list.

Soon after, some of my husband's real estate clients learned of the success of our daycare and expressed interest in investing and encouraged us to open a chain. However, we were clear that this daycare was not about making a profit, but about serving God. We declined their offers. Jason and I prayed about how to use the potential profits for God’s work, and Jason suggested sponsoring children. We then partnered with World Vision to sponsor children in need.

As the children who were graduating from Little Seed were about to enter elementary school, I began to understand more about the U.S. education system. I realized that the public education system had deviated from biblical truths, and I felt a deep burden to continue with elementary education.

The transition from Family Daycare to Little Seed Center was an operational adjustment, but moving from daycare to elementary school was like entering uncharted waters. We chose a curriculum that aligned with biblical values so that it could not only help children excel academically but also deepen their faith. We are so thankful that God provided us with a team of experienced Christian educators.

We named the elementary school Kingdom Seeds Academy. Although this name derived from the same scripture, the transition from "Little Seed" to "Kingdom Seeds" symbolizes our determination to push beyond our previous limits.

We prayed and began searching for a new location. Initially, we found a property at 3333 Diamond Bar, but due to our lack of real estate collateral and insufficient funds, the landlord declined us and soon after, the property was taken off the market. We knew that God’s timing had not yet arrived, so we continued praying. In 2022, the property was listed again, and this time, God opened a way. The landlord agreed to lease to us, with the condition that Jason and I personally guaranteed the lease. At first, we hesitated, fearing the responsibility. But God encouraged us with Joshua 1:3-7: "Every place where you set your foot, I have given to you, as I promised Moses." We believed and signed the contract. Soon after, blessings started pouring in and brothers and sisters from our church offered loans and donations to support the school.

Kingdom Seed Academy became a wonderful learning environment for the students, with bright and airy classrooms, a music room, a dance studio, an art room, and a large auditorium. Even on rainy days, we still had enough room for indoor activities.

We thank God that KSA has finally begun! While we were mentally prepared for the challenges ahead, we know that elementary school is a unique and important stage—a big step from daycare to formal education. Our goal is to help children build a strong foundation, nurture their spirituality, and guide them toward God (Colossians 1:28), planting His unshakable kingdom in their hearts. At the same time, we want to support them as they adjust to the rhythm of school life. This transition isn’t just tough for the children—it’s also a big change for parents. And while we expected challenges, the journey took us on a ride.

In early 2024, as half of our facility remained unused, we faced a financial crisis. A friend’s investment company offered to help, and in order to continue operating the school, we agreed to collaborate with them. We decided to use half of the facility for "Diamond Dar Daycare," but the licensing process was delayed by almost a year, and our financial resources were once again strained. Jason and I sold everything we could—both tangible and intangible—to keep the school running.

Though there is still a significant financial gap, we see a school that is still growing in health and maturity. Through these past two years of trials, KSA has built a more united core team, and our teaching has matured. Enrollment for 2025 is already increasing. We have received a great deal of positive feedback and valuable suggestions. Therefore, we are filled with confidence and hope for the future of the school.

In the past two years, the school has experienced both mountains and valleys. Our address, 3333 (the number 3 and the Chinese word for "mountain" share a similar pronunciation), initially led me to understand that God wanted us to have faith—faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. But one morning, as I prayed on campus, looking out at the mountains surrounding the school, a peaceful thought filled my heart: "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people, both now and forevermore" (Psalm 125:2).

This is God’s promise. He will watch over and protect His people, His children. We are deeply grateful to those who have supported us on this challenging journey and those parents who share our vision. Together, we are seeing the transformation of these children’s lives. Each day, as the children attend chapel and Bible classes, listening to God's Word, praying, and praising, we are filled with joy as we witness their growth. We give thanks and praise to God, knowing that our efforts have not been in vain.

Mission and Vision of Jesus Loves Children Mission Group

In the story of Little Seed’s founding, I shared how we initially established this nonprofit organization to meet the lease requirements for our school building. After waiting for a year, the lease was unexpectedly terminated. But instead of disappointment, we received something far greater—official certification for Jesus Loves Children Mission Group (JLC). It was then that we realized this was God’s divine plan.

At first, our understanding was simple: a school dedicated to God should not be built for profit, but rather as a ministry devoted solely to serving Him. The school was never meant to belong to any individual—it belongs to God alone. Because of this, we often remind our teachers: We are all coworkers in Christ, and our only boss is God. Whatever we do, even in the smallest tasks, remain faithful because we do it for Him.

Over the past four years, as founders of the school, my husband and I have carried the heart of both servants and shepherds, working alongside God in this calling. Through this journey, we have seen the deeper needs of this generation of children and families. It has become increasingly clear that God’s purpose for JLC extends beyond simply establishing a school.

From the very beginning, God gave us this Scripture: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed..." (Matthew 13:31)

God's desire is to plant the seed of His kingdom within people’s hearts, growing an unshakable faith. But this growth requires more than just a school—it requires an entire environment where faith can take root and flourish.

Our Mission Moving Forward

While remaining faithful in education, we are committed to strengthening our school, refining our academic and administrative systems, and expanding our programs to include after-school activities and summer camps. At the same time, we are developing a strong core team, working on curriculum innovation, teacher training, course development, parent education, family support initiatives, and special education programs.

Beyond traditional education, we also hope to extend our mission into media, entertainment, and digital platforms—creating content for children that is deeply rooted in biblical truth. Our goal is to build a nurturing environment that aligns with God’s truth for both children and families.

Looking ahead, we aspire to bring this well-established, Christ-centered educational model to third-world countries. Our mission is not only to provide economic support but, more importantly, to share the Gospel—so that children and families may hear about Jesus, receive Him, and inherit eternal life.

God has made His will increasingly clear: He is planting the seeds of His kingdom in this generation, and through His people, He will fulfill His plans on earth. In the face of a world that often drifts away from biblical truth, we choose not to compromise. Instead, we will live out the values of the Kingdom. Only by standing firm in the truth can we build an unshakable foundation of faith.

Many parents today say, "This generation of children is so fortunate—they have everything they need." But in reality, they are growing up in an era filled with greater temptations, challenges, and confusion about their identity and purpose. Children in both developed and developing countries face the same fundamental questions:

Who am I?
Where do I come from?
Where am I going?
What is the purpose of my life?
Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; but I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly." (John 10:10)

Education alone cannot answer life’s deepest questions—only God’s truth can.

Planting the seeds of God’s kingdom in children is one of the most powerful ways to shape their lives for the better. By teaching them biblical values, we are instilling not just good morals, but also a deep sense of self-worth. When children realize that God created them perfectly and with purpose, it empowers them to be confident in who they are and what they can accomplish.

Through the stories in the Bible, they learn the importance of good work ethics, responsibility, and the value of teamwork. These teachings are more than just lessons—they are tools for navigating life and building meaningful relationships with others.

In today’s world, social media and external pressures can lead to confusion and self-doubt, but by grounding our students in God’s truth, we help them navigate these challenges with clarity and resilience. Instead of getting caught up in the noise of comparison, they develop a strong sense of identity and purpose, protecting them from the mental health struggles that often come with trying to meet unrealistic standards. Most importantly, we don’t need to foster competitiveness in children. Each child is on their own unique journey, and we encourage them to embrace their individual strengths and passions. We believe every child can become an influential person in their own way—whether through leadership, kindness, creativity, or any other gift they have—and by empowering them to grow into the person God created them to be, we help them make a lasting impact in the world.

This is the heart of our mission: to use education as a means to reach different spheres of society, to plant the seeds of truth, and to lead people fully into Jesus Christ. Our vision is to equip children with spiritual discernment and wisdom so they will not be deceived by the lies of the world.

The road ahead is long, but it is one filled with hope, joy, and victory—because He who promised is faithful, and His purposes for Jesus Loves Children Mission Group will surely come to pass.

"Though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great." (Job 8:7)

2021年7 月, “Little Seed Child Development Center” 正式開幕。

“Jesus Loves Children Mission Group”
