Meet my friend Susie. If you know her, then you know what love, grit, and generosity looks like in human form.

Susie is quite the trailblazer - as the first female salesperson at JC Penney's Auto Center, and later at Lone Star Chrysler, she didn't just break into a male-dominated field--she owned it. She paved the way for other women to step up and shine in roles they were too often told they didn't belong.

Susie's biggest legacy isn't in sales numbers - it's in people. She's the one you went to when things fell apart. She's opened her door and her heart to family and friends in need during tough times - no questions asked, and no judgement, just unconditional love and a warm place to land.

When Merlin needed a home, Susie didn't hesitate to step in and raise him like her own son, giving him the love and stability every child deserves.

Susie also had her own thrift store in Canyon. Her store wasn't just a business - it was a community anchor. Featured in the Canyon newspaper, Susie was known for quietly giving things away to those who couldn't afford them. Many years later, she's still got that giving nature and gave me a leather couch when I was going through my divorce.

Now, Susie needs our help. Years of putting others first have taken a toll on her health -- particularly her teeth. She needs new teeth, but like so many who've spent their lives giving instead of taking, she simply doesn't have the means to cover the cost.
