Susie has severe persistent asthma and is at a place where her doctors cannot increase her medication.
Her Pulmonologist feels the best chance for up to 5 more years of improved breathing and quality of life is a procedure called bronchial thermoplasty. It involves 3 surgeries to burn the smooth muscle inside of her lungs/bronchials.
Her 1st surgery was in April and major complications put her in ICU on ventilator. Weeks later a secondary respiratory infection put her back in CCU.
Susie has been out of work for 3 weeks and has a long recovery ahead as well as 2 more surgeries to prepare for.
