Help Sushi Steph get a tumor removed
Hi!
It's a me, Sushi Steph!
Soooo... here's the deal, I have a tumor on my left ovary. It's the size of lemon, contains hair and teeth, and is apparently the twin I absorbed in utero.
On July 4th I woke up in severe pain. Pain so bad that I couldn't speak, open my eyes, or stop vomiting. I dealt with this pain for hours because I don't have health insurance. And when you don't have health insurance, you DO NOT take going to the ER lightly. But later in the afternoon I came to the conclusion I have no choice. The pain was not fading, and I was definitely dehydrated at this point.
This part is kind of a blur. But, I know there was a car ride, and then a wheelchair ride.
After several rounds of pain meds and anti nausea medication I was finally zombiefied. I got an ultrasound and then I got to lay in a machine to get some cool black and white photos of my insides. They came back with epic results. They told me I had a growth on my left ovary. They made it very clear I would have to see an OBGYN immediately to find out more.
So, I did....and the first visit was quite a rollercoaster ride. I go in and the Doctor says to me "This is very normal we see these cysts all the time. And, you say you've had them before. It is VERY likely that it will shrink and just go away on it's own. Just stay positive and we will do another scan today to see if it has gotten smaller."
I said, "HELL YEAH!!!!" Went back to the room with machines and had a REALLY uncomfortable scan done. Then back to my room to wait for results. I sat there with high hopes.
But, no such luck. Doctor took one look at the photo and said, "Well, we've got to get this thing out of you ASAP." He pointed at the printed photo of my left ovary and said, "You see this? This is a tooth."
Me: **Mind Blown**
The doctor suggested surgery for the NEXT DAY! But, with zero health coverage I simply could not.
It took about a month for my insurance to start. I am definitely thankful to have it now, even as minimal as it is. But, that month of waiting was terrifying, wondering if this thing in me is getting bigger, or that it might rupture at any moment.
As many of you know, I run my own small business. I have had to turn down several gigs as a result of the pain I am in. I have lost a significant amount of income.
My surgery was scheduled for August 20th, but thanks to Covid, was postponed until September 17th. I am trying my best to stay positive, but the longer I have to wait the more work I miss and the more likely I will end up back in the ER with yet another bill.
Needless to say I cannot afford these bills, and I cannot afford to ignore this health issue. It's the reason I have come here, to ask for help.
BONUS INFO: This growth is literally said to be the kind of growth that is a twin you absorbed. Which is the only awesome thing about this....Freaky, but awesome. Also, I asked if i could keep the tooth, But, I got a hard no because the whole mass will have to go to pathology after the surgery.
