Queridos hermanos en Cristo, amigos y allegados:

Apelamos a sus corazones generosos para ayudar a nuestra amiga y hermana en Cristo, Susana Torres, quien ha perdido todo tras el incendio que consumió por completo el edificio donde vivía y, por ende, su apartamento. Esta tragedia ocurrió el martes, 21 de abril de 2026, en el área de Belmont/Little Italy, en el Bronx.

Como muchos habrán visto en las noticias, este devastador incendio dejó a 2 personas fallecidas y 11 heridas. Por la gracia de Dios, Susana y su familia se encuentran a salvo; sin embargo, han perdido absolutamente todo.

¿Se pueden imaginar lo que es perderlo TODO de un momento a otro? Yo no me imagino lo que debe ser esto, y es precisamente esto lo que les ha pasado a Susana y a su familia.

Susana es una mujer de profunda fe, generosa y entregada, parroquiana de la Iglesia Monte Carmelo y miembro activa del Movimiento Juan XXIII. Es una madre dedicada a dos adolescentes. Susana siempre está dispuesta a servir al Señor y a los demás con un corazón lleno de amor.

Hoy, más que nunca, necesita de nuestra ayuda para comenzar de nuevo. Les animamos a unirse a esta causa para ayudar a ella y a sus dos hijos en sus necesidades. Agradezcamos a Dios esta oportunidad que tenemos ahora de ayudar al necesitado, con amor y misericordia.

Cualquier aporte, por pequeño que sea, será de gran ayuda. Si no pueden colaborar económicamente, les pedimos que la mantengan en sus oraciones y brinden apoyo moral y material.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, friends, family, and loved ones:

We turn to your generous hearts to support our dear friend and sister in Christ, Susana Torres, who has lost everything after a residential fire completely destroyed the building where she lived, including her apartment. This tragedy occurred on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in the Belmont/Little Italy area of the Bronx.

As you may have seen in the news, this devastating fire resulted in 2 fatalities and 11 people injured. By the grace of God, Susana and her family are safe; however, they have lost absolutely everything. Can you imagine losing EVERYTHING in an instant? I know I cannot. This is precisely what happened to Susana and her family.

Susana is a woman of deep faith, generous and self-giving, and an active member of the parish of Mount Carmel, as well as of Movimiento Juan XXIII. She is a devoted mother of two teenagers (16 and 14). Susana is a loving daughter, always ready to serve the Lord and others with a heart full of love.

Now more than ever, she needs our help to begin again. We warmly invite you to join us in supporting her during this difficult time. We're blessed to have an opportunity to extend God's mercy to others by offering this support to Susana.
