Help Susan Varghese Recover and Return to Teaching

**Dear Friends, Family and Community Members,**

I am reaching out on behalf of my cherished friend, Susan Varghese, a beloved teacher of over 20 years in Austin, Texas. She has devoted her life to her students and their families, inspiring young children and offering her unwavering support to families through every season.

For the past two years, Susan set aside her career to provide end of life care to her sister, Sonia. Susan's compassion and dedication to her family held the highest priority, as she faithfully remained by her sister's beside until the Lord called Sonia home.

This school year was to mark Susan's highly anticipated return to teaching, a moment she was excitedly awaiting. She met her new students at Open House, with her heart full of joy and hope for the upcoming school year.

The morning after Open House, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, as she turned into her school campus driveway, Susan was involved in a serious car accident that has left her with multiple injuries.

Though Susan has shown incredible strength and resilience, she has endured surgery, pain and a long recovery process. Susan is only beginning to navigate the emotional, physical and financial impacts of this life-altering event.

Susan never got the chance to start the school year and she is not able to work for an undetermined length of time. Susan remains strong in her faith, trusting the Lord Jesus Christ to heal her and to help her return to daily independent living. She hopes to be back in the classroom with her precious students soon.

As a community, we have the opportunity to help lighten her burden. Susan has spent her life caring for others; now, she needs our care.
