Help Susan Horvath, Bensalem Flood Victim
Hi, my name is Susan Horvath. I rent a condo in the Lafayette Gardens community in Bensalem, PA. Last Monday, July 12th, everything changed for me. The nearby Poquessing Valley Creek overflowed after about 10 inches of rain fell on the region. This caused flash flooding and water rushed into my home up to my knees in a matter of moments. The next thing I knew, firefighters smashed my living room window open, and pulled me out to safety. I was lucky to get out with my life, as I am blind and live alone.
My home and belongings were not as fortunate. The property has been deemed uninhabitable, and we do not know if I will ever be able to return home. All of my furniture and possessions were destroyed in the flooding. Any donations would go towards helping me find a new home, including a security deposit for a new rented apartment, and replacing furniture, clothing, and assistive devices. Thank you for your support during this difficult time.
